If you have a Thai wife and kids and wish to move your family to Thailand. What do you need to do?
Some people might say “You need to have 400K baht sits in your Thai bank account for 60 or 90 days.”That’s not true AT ALL! In this case, I am only talking about a foreigner who has Thai wife and kids. Let’s talk about money. So how much do you actually need to have?
You have 2 options
1. Yes, you need to have 400K Baht in a Thai bank account for over 2 – 3 months. You need to show a book bank with 400K baht in the bank account and a bank account verification letter stating your name, date, and current balance.
You need to have income in Thailand or oversea over 40K baht per month. If you want to choose this option, you need to prepare your bank statement from your country (from last 3 – 6 months) and a letter from the Embassy in Thailand. After you get the letter, you have to translate the letter into Thai language and certified the translation by the Department of Consular. I would suggest you use a translation service. It would cost you 800 – 1000 Baht and they will do everything for you, translate the document into the Thai language with certification from Department of Consular.
Unfortunately, if you choose option 2, you need to redo the letter every year. The immigration office only accepts and also keeps the original letter
I hope this help. I know that some people charge ridiculous fees for the service. However, this should help you save money and make your life easier.
